M.O.M. FIT TEAM
Elizabeth O'Brien-Gorkowski is the owner of M.O.M. FIT. The concept of M.O.M. FIT (MILITARY spouses ON the MOVE ) was born after realizing she would have to spend several hundred dollars on day care to work out 12 hours a month on post. A fitness professional for over 15 years, Elizabeth coached college women's basketball for 12 years before the military decided it would be fun to move her family 5 times in 4.5 years. Utilizing the MYCAA grant Elizabeth became a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise and developed M.O.M. FIT which offers boot camps, personal training, stroller fitness, sports specific conditioning and lifestyle and weight management coaching for military spouses. Elizabeth is a former D-I college athlete who played soccer and basketball at Hofstra University and graduated with a degree in Marketing. Coaching at U.S.M.A., U of Hawaii and Hofstra University provided Elizabeth the privilege to coach and mentor numerous athletes who continued their playing careers at various levels including National, Olympic, WNBA and All Army Teams. Throughout her career Elizabeth has provided play by play commentary for various media outlets, served as a guest speaker at numerous events and appeared on a weekly coach’s radio show for ESPN 1420 Honolulu. Elizabeth and her husband are the proud parents of three beautiful girls who always listen!
